Employee Spotlight: Aleksei Voronkov

This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Aleksei Voronkov, Salesforce Developer, a great example of what it means to be Proactive and Engaged. From driving technical improvements on high-impact projects to actively supporting colleagues and contributing to our internal community, Aleksei brings curiosity, ownership, and a strong sense of responsibility to everything he does.

Can you share a bit about your background and what brought you to Aquiva Labs?

One of my ex-colleagues, a great Salesforce Expert, joined Aquiva. When I saw he’d left our company, I got curious and checked where he went – that’s how I discovered Aquiva Labs.

I already knew about Aquiva’s strong HR brand and Salesforce expertise, so I applied through the website. Fun fact – I got the interview invite while asleep, woke up in the middle of the night, and accidentally scheduled it for 11 PM instead of 11 AM! One of the recruiter team kindly pointed it out, and I corrected it. Things moved quickly from there, and I knew this was the place for me right away.

What has been one of your most memorable experiences or achievements in Aquiva?

There have been many. One of the standout experiences has been the opportunity to work with five different Salesforce clouds in just nine months, that’s rare! Most people only touch two or three throughout their careers.

In terms of achievements, I’d say my current project is something I’m especially proud of. It’s massive in terms of scale and end users. Unlike previous projects I’ve worked on, which served hundreds of users, this one supports millions. That scale brings challenges, but also real impact. Large organizations often have established processes, and change can be difficult. But we’ve managed to build trust through our expertise, push technical improvements, and see progress.

This time, we're highlighting the core value of "Proactive and Engaged”. How do you personally connect with this value, and why do you believe it is essential?

For me, being Proactive and Engaged means understanding that you’re responsible not just for your tasks, but also for the environment around you. If something blocks your work or affects productivity,  don’t ignore it. Either take action yourself or raise it to someone who can help. That’s how we keep moving forward.

At Aquiva, I really appreciate how open the community is. You can ask any question, even if it feels basic or silly, and you’ll get thoughtful answers. We’re surrounded by experts: Salesforce MVPs, CTAs, former Salesforce employees, and experienced architects. When you engage, you don’t just solve your own problems, but you help strengthen the team as a whole.

What advice would you give to others about incorporating a "Proactive and Engaged” approach into their daily work?

First, believe in your own expertise.  If you notice something’s not right – say it. Suggest improvements. Don’t assume someone else will take care of it. It’s easy to feel stuck or frustrated, but staying silent doesn’t help.  Share your feedback and take initiative.

Also, be supportive. Sometimes your colleagues, whether they’re team leads, architects, or engineers, might be stuck or struggling. Offer help, ask questions, or just be available for a quick brainstorm. Proactiveness is not just about speaking up for yourself, but also about helping others move forward.

The environment we work in is shaped by all of us,  so if you want it to improve, be part of making it better every day.

What are some of the hobbies or interests you enjoy outside of work?

About a year ago, I started going to the gym and I love it. I go at least three times a week, usually four or five. It gives me energy, keeps me in shape, and helps me stay focused.

Is there a fact that might surprise your colleagues?

I always wanted to be a voice actor! I love imitating voices and memes, and my girlfriend really likes it. I even considered pursuing it professionally, but let’s just say the salary wasn’t good enough.

What is one thing you’ve learned at Aquiva Labs that you think everyone should know?

Aquiva doesn’t feel like just a company,  it feels like a community. We share knowledge, help and support each other in solving tough problems.

Just last week, I had a question I couldn’t answer, even after hours of research. I reached out to experts like Michael Holt and Jakub Stefaniak, and even though no one had an immediate answer, we brainstormed and figured it out together. That’s the power of our community.

If you don’t ask, you don’t get answers. If you don’t contribute, the community doesn’t grow. But if you do,  your own and team’s possibilities are endless.
