Agent Templates Are Now Packageable – Here’s Why That Matters for Your Agentforce Strategy

With the Salesforce Summer ’25 release (June 14, 2025), Agent Templates can now be included in both First- and Second-Generation Managed Packages. It’s a technical improvement, but one with real impact: it makes it much easier for ISVs using Agentforce to deliver a consistent, scalable experience to customers.

Until now, even if your package included powerful Apex actions, customers still had to configure the agent in their org manually. That meant long checklists, setup errors, and extra support cycles.

Now, you can ship a fully defined Agent Template in your managed package. Customers simply create an agent from that template in their org. It’s faster, more reliable, and helps eliminate misconfiguration.

Why It Matters

  • Faster time-to-value – Customers can go from install to a working agent in minutes.

  • Fewer support tickets – Templates reduce setup mistakes and remove ambiguity.

  • Better adoption – The more straightforward the setup, the more likely customers are to use it.

  • Consistent experience – Every org gets the same, tested version of your agent.

Agentforce is gaining momentum quickly: over 200 partners are on Agent Exchange, with more than 70 live and 100+ customers already using agents in production. As adoption grows, ease of implementation will be key to standing out.

What’s Next

Whether you’ve already launched an agent or are just starting to explore Agentforce, now is the time to take advantage of what the Summer ’25 release makes possible.

Including Agent Templates in your managed package removes one of the most significant friction points in agent adoption: setup. With a predefined template, customers can create a fully functioning agent in minutes, without complex configuration steps or risk of error. That translates directly into faster onboarding, higher engagement, and fewer support tickets.

If you’re already on AgentExchange, this is your opportunity to simplify delivery, improve consistency, and scale faster across orgs.
If you’re only on AppExchange, it’s a great moment to build your first agent and list it. We’ll help you design it, configure the template, and guide you through the Agent Exchange process, including passing the security review. Bonus: The Salesforce Security Review fee is only $1 per package with an agent.

We’ve helped partners navigate this path successfully across 10 Agentforce projects, and we’d be happy to support your team as well.

Let’s talk about how to make Agentforce work for your customers and your business.
